After reading and reviewing the book in class, I would like to know how the class discussions about Things Fall Apart have changed your opinion about the book. In class, I am sure that everyone heard about their different opinions of Okonkwo and his actions. I would like to know what your opinions of Okonkwo and his actions were before the class discussions, and what were your opinions after the discussions.
As for me, before the class discussions, I thought Okonkwo was an ignorant, stubborn, and narrow-minded person who needed to be taught to be more open-minded. However, after the class discussions, I thought that Okonkwo might have an a brain disorder, such as depression or bipolar disorder. Hi actions and behavior leads to me make this conclusion. What do you think? Comment on my blog!

I think that Okonkwo was shaped by his society, and that it was too late for him to change. That's why he commit suicide. He felt he was betrayed by his people after they had decided not to go to war against the white people. His people had changed, they accepted the white people and their beliefs, but it was too late for Okonkwo.

Well, when I started reading the book, in the begining chapters, I thought Okonkwo was a great guy. But then, when I read about the part when he killed Ikemefuna, my perspective changed. I began to think he was a bad guy and abused his strength and skills.

In the beginning of the book I felt that Okonkwo was just a really strong willed person. As I progressed through the book and he kill himself, I felt even more so.

Okonkwo replied to the behavior of his father,. I think looking at his father made him act the way. He wasnn't stubborn, just desperate for attention.
